2009 - 2010 Region IV Rally Championship Series
Region IV holds a Rally Championship Series to promote All-American (AA) and National Derby Rallies (NDR) rally racing in our region. Combined points from AA and NDR are compiled for Region IV participants. The top 8 points earners in each division are recognized after the annual NDR Shootout. A traveling trophy is given to the top points earner in each division.
Rules
Eligibility: All AA and NDR rally participants that reside in Region IV. (No AA or NDR membership required, just participation in rallies.)
Points:
| #1 | | Attendance = 5 points (per Region IV rally only; starting Aug. 16, 2009 in Ogallala, NE |
| #2 | | Placement Points (per Region IV rally) |
| | Place | |
| | 1 | 8 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 2 | 7 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 3 | 6 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 4 | 5 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 5 | 4 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 6 | 3 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 7 | 2 points + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | 8 | 1 point + the number of cars racing in that division |
| | Ties at a rally | Participants will split the points + their car count. |
Example: Participant A racing in the Stock division places 3rd. There are 23 Stock cars racing that day. Participant A earns 5 attendance points, 6 points for placing 3rd, and 23 points for the number of cars in the field = 39 points total for that rally.
Changing Divisions: Participants can change divisions and collect points in all three divisions. However, the points do not transfer divisions. WARNING: Participants are allowed to change divisions within the NDR, and from NDR to AA when rallying. If a participant changes divisions while rallying in the AA program, that participant loses his/her previous division points. If the participant/adult is not clear about the points, the participant/adult should ask AA before changing within the AA rally system.
Top 8 Points Ties: Ties will be broken by counting the highest number of first place finishes, followed by the highest number of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.
Record Keeping: Each participant will be given a score card at their first rally for their use. Each rally director will summit a photocopy of the race results to the Omaha Area Soap Box Derby Association to be compiled and posted as soon as possible on the OASBDA Web site. Current top point standings will be at each rally for display and confirmation.
Recognition and Awards Presentation: The current plan is to recognize and award the top 8 points winners in the three divisions at the conclusion of the NDR Shoot Out (final NDR race of each season). At present, we are planning on awarding a large traveling trophy. Any other types of awards for the coming years will be up for discussion by all the rally cities in Region IV. 2009 points will start August 16, 2009 in Ogallala, NE.
